The Crossover Barber Course is specifically designed for the licensed cosmetologist. This 300-hour course can be completed in as little as 2 months and is designed to broaden and enhance styling knowledge and skill by providing an intensive and efficient lesson in barbering.

The Instructor's Course is a 750-hour session aimed at further developing the practical and theoretical prowess of the licensed barber and hairstylist.  This course requires a full time commitment for a 6 month duration being that its goal is to prepare the student to bear full responsibility and step into the role of instruction.  Please call the admissions office for pricing and availability of this course.

Philosophy and Objective
Traditionally, graduates of barber schools may have found themselves equipped with immaculate skills in haircutting techniques, but were equipped with little to no skills in hairstyling, chemical treatment, coloring, etc.; lacking knowledge in the overall science of hair.  In order to acquire additional training for basic skills in hairstyling techniques, many barbers have had to seek costly additional training; attending trade shows, seminars, enrolling in comsetology courses, and even experimenting on clients.  Furthermore, many cosmetologists have found themselves lacking in haircutting skills, and subsequently have had to enroll in barber schools to become more proficient in haircutting techniques.

At SamVerly College, we place a strong emphasis on developing artistic abilities and entrepreneurial spirit. We understand the constant changing trends in the hair industry, thus we are aggresive in ensuring that ALL OF OUR STUDENTS are competent hairstylists; trendsetters, not followers.  In addition to our educational curriculum, we also offer placement assistance to aid graduates in securing employment or starting their own business.

Facility

The interior of our facility is spacious, well lit, and open in design so as to maximize the interaction between students and instructors.  For practical training, the school houses a clinical area with a salon atmosphere, in which all assignments are performed on both students and the general public.  The clinical area consists of one workstation per student, accompanied by adequate shampoo bowls, hair dryers, and styling chairs to render client services.  A typical class size per state regulation is 20 students to 1 instructor.

ENROLLMENT PROCEDURE
